When I moved to Los Angeles to pursue music, I knew I was choosing a tough path. I knew it was going to be hard to leave everything I had known and move to a new city. I had no support system and had to audition against a lot of other people trying to get gigs playing music. I heard a statistic shortly after moving to town that was pretty amazing and likely to even be true:

6,000 people move to Hollywood every month. Roughly 6,000 move home every month too.
Given that, it is really important to me to be in a place where I have my family and friends who support me. It’s good to get back to being just me and maintaining the sense of who I really am. Not who I want to be, where I want to be, who I need to perform for, or anything like that. Just turn the switch off, refresh, and go back at it. I recently took a trip back home and although I didn’t outwardly mention it too much, I was pretty burnt out upon my arrival. However being home and seeing my friends and family was just what I needed to maintain sanity!!
We all need to take care of ourselves and not lose our balance when seeking to reach for any goal. Thanks to everyone @ home. It means a lot to me.
