4th of July

July 11, 2010

The 4th of July is one of my favorite Holidays. Nothing says, “America” more than fireworks, hot dogs, and a sickening amount of beer:)

So this year, I had only one thing I really wanted to do. Go the the beach and destress. In the infallible words of ex-president George W. Bush, “Mission Accomplished.”

I went to Venice, hung out with some friends, drank nearly all day, and loved life by the ocean. How does this relate to music or drumming? It doesn’t really but it’s important to take time out for one’s well-being and relax every now and again.

So while in Venice we came across a bloc party where the above picture was taken. A young singer appropriately by the name of Hope sang the national anthem. She was fantastic and it was sooo great to see everyone sing along and just for one day love the nation we live in that allows us the chance to work hard and strive for our dreams.

Happy super late 4th everyone!!

;)
